Two wooden 18th centhury medaillons.

At the first pillars in het front of the nave one finds two nice 18th century medallions. The one on the left represents the arrival by boat of the miraculous statue of the Virgin in Brussels in 1348. Then boat rather resembles a 16th century caravel…
The medallion on the other side of the nave refers to the miraculous vision by a weaver named Jehan in the St Gudule church in Brussels of a luminescent communion wafer in an ostensory.
In older times these medallions were part of the wooden panels behind secondary altars. Medallion as part of the wooden furniture behind secondary altars in this church
