The King Baudouin Foundation United States (KBFUS) is registered as a charitable foundation under Section 501(c). US-based donors are therefore eligible for a tax break in the United States when they donate to the Foundation. The KBF Canada Foundation (was created to enable Canada-based donors to support projects in Europe, Africa, America and Asia. It is incorporated under the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act and meets the requirements set out in the Income Tax Act. KBF Canada is authorised to issue tax receipts to Canada-based donors. Also of interest is the duo bequest, by which you leave a sum of money or a specific possession to your legal heirs and another sum of money or a specific possession to a charity such as The Friends of the Church Our Lady at the Sablon Fund. The King Baudouin Foundation then pays both its own inheritance duty and those of the legal heirs. This increases the net amount left to the legal heirs. You can discuss it with your notary and/or contact the Foundation: poskin.c@kbs-frb.be or at +32.2 511 18 40 (Mrs Poskin).
