Hasard ou non, on trouve des deux panneaux latéraux du triptyque de Charles de Tisnacq
is the famous triptych of ‘The Resurrection of Christ’ by Michel Coxcie, the ‘Flemish Raphael’.
The donors are kneeling on a prie-Dieu, facing the central panel:
Charles Quarré and his first wife Anne Taye, Lady of Goyck, as well as
their children, Jean and Anne. Charles, who died in 1575, was a member of the council of Brabant and
a diligent collaborator of the cruel Duke of Alba. He made, for example, an inventory of the property
confiscated from the signatories of the Compromise of the Nobles and of those who were executed on the
place du Grand Sablon. He’s therefore considered the polar opposite of Charles de Tisnacq
